DIARY OF AUDREY'S WORLD RECORD

The IAFD, as a Posthumously Tribute to our dear and remembered Audrey Mestre, acknowledges the official recognition of her performance of Wednesday, October 09, 2002 when she became the deepest freediver in the world, after reaching 170 meters (557.7 feet), in 2’55” while in training. Such performance will be entered in the book of records of the IAFD as the current absolute world record in No Limits.

By this statement, the IAFD recognizes Audrey as the freediver who has reached the deepest mark in the world, man or woman, as of today, October 28, 2002. She had previously achieved two marks in training, 145 meters on October 02, 2002. With this performance, she had passed the previous women’s mark. In October 04, 2002 she had set a new absolute deepest mark, for men or women, to an astonishing 166 meters in 2’44”.

This mark, of 170 meters, may actually be exceeded one day, and we wish only the best to whomever may attempt it, however, in our hearts, Audrey will always be the one and only. She had a class and delicate touch that is very hard to achieve. As an athlete and as a person she was enormous, she set an example in behavior that we can only hope to imitate.

For a true champion, this is our tribute to you, wherever you are. God bless you!
